Culture
Culture of Pakistan
is influenced by the culture of India, Middle East, Central Asia and
other Asian regions. Pakistan was the cultural hub before the partition of
South Asia. Indus valley civilization was the part of Pakistan in past.
Mughal’s culture was the most dominated culture in South Asia. Aryans,
Greeks, White Huns, Arabs, Turks, Mongols and various Eurasian groups ruled
before partition Pakistan. Culture of Pakistan has mixed
colors of different other civilizations such as Turk, persian, Afghan,
indian and other. But on the whole pakistan is the first country of
subcontinent that shows the complete picture of islamic culture. Mughal’s
art, Buddhist monuments, Anglo-Mogul mansions, Hindu/Buddhist temples and
others are the heritage of Pakistan.
Society of Pakistan is a combination
of different cultures and different languages are spoken and understood from
place to place but the major and national language of Pakistan is Urdu
language. Joint family system is preferred in Pakistan this custom has
come from Indian culture. Tribal areas of Pakistan that are linked with
Afghanistan are more conservative and backward then other areas such as Sindh
province and Punjab province. These tribal areas follow their own rules and
regulations they strictly act upon their customs. In cities of Pakistan middle
class is a rapidly emerging class especially in Karachi, Rawalpindi, Lahore,
Multan, Quetta, Sukkur, Peshawar, Hyderabad.
Pakistani literature is available in
all major languages of Pakistan such as Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi and others. The
popular writers of Pakistan are: Bano Qudsia, Ashfaq Ahmad, Bushra rehman and
others The writers that were related to Urdu literature before partition and
that created Urdu literature are: Ismat chughtai, Azeem baig chughtai, Sa’adat
hasan manto, Krishen chander, Syed suleman nadvi, Farhat Ullah Baig and others.
Poetry pf Pakistan has lots of popular names Pakistani poetry has a very strong
background before partition and there is a long list of poets that are: Mirza
ghalib, Faiz ahmad faiz, Ahmad nadeem Qasmi, Allama Iqbal and others. Pakistani
poetry has different blends of other languages poetries such as arabic, persian,
punjabi, balouchi, kashmiri and sindhi poetry. Pakistani music has a trdaitional
and westren touch such as qawwali is merged with westren music called “fusion”
created by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan(Late). Mystic music that has a touch of
“sophism” with rock music created by musical band “Junoon” classical music is a
very important part of Pkaistani music. Pakistani Punjabi Pop music is also a
very popular and important part of Pakistani music. National sport of Pakistan
is hockey but cricket is a very popular. Pakistan also take part in Olympic
games in the sports of shooting, swimming, hockey and boxing. Pakistani food has
a great variety it is influnced by Afghanistan, Arabians, Indian and persian
foods.
In Pakistan different religious and
national festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm. These festivels are
Eid-ul-fiter, Eid-ud-duha, Chand raat, Shab barat, Ramadan, Muhaaram, Eid Milad
Un Nabi, Jashn-e-Baharan, Naurouz, Independence day, Defense day. National
dress of Pakistan is shalwar qamiz, dressings varies from place to place. Sari,
Sherwani these are also wear in Pakistan.
