Rawalpindi is a twin city of
Islamabad.
It is located in the province Punjab. There are many industries and factories in
Rawalpindi. In 1960s Rawalpindi served as the
capital of Pakistan while Islamabad was under construction. In winter the
climate becomes very cold while in summer climate reaches to extreme
temperature, heavy rainfall occurs during monsoon. Rawalpindi is
also called as Pindi.
It is an historical city for its political upsets. Liaqat Ali Khan, who was the
prime minister of Pakistan, was died in an assassination at Liaqat Bagh in 1951.
While in 2007 former prime minister of Pakistan and chairperson of Pakistan
People Party Benazir Bhutto was died in assaisination in Liaqat Bagh. Pakistan
army and Air force’s headquarters are in Rawalpindi. About 70% people of
Rawalpindi are literate, which shows that literacy rate is high in Rawalpindi.
In Rawalpindi mixed languages are spoken and understood because mixed people
live there like Muhajirs, Potoharis, Punjabi and others. Ayub National Park is
the largest park of Rawalpindi. Rawalpindi has many attractions

tourists like it has many amusement parks, lakes, clubs and other places. In
Rawalpindi several playgrounds are present that holds great importance some of
them are Rawalpindi cricket stadium, Army Hockey Stadium, Army
football stadium, Muncipal football stadium and others. These are the popular

Natural History, Idara-e-saqafat-e-Pakistan, Thew Army museum. These are the
