Pakistan international
represents Pakistan International Airlines in short PIA: It is
one of the largest airlines in Asia and it is ranked 16th. It is based in
Karachi i.e. its head office is in Karachi. Its destinations are
approximately 80 countries throughout Asia, Europe, North America and Middle
East. PIA is the official airline of Pakistan government; its major bases
are Quaid-e-Azam international airport of Karachi, Islamabad international
airport of Islamabad and Allama Iqbal international airport of Lahore. In
1946, Orient Airways were established in Calcutta before Pakistan’s birth
but later on when Pakistan came into being PIA established in Karachi. Like
international destination, PIA has a wide network of domestic destinations.
In 1960, PIA entered the jet age by introducing Boeing 707, it was the only
Asian airline that were providing services of jet aircrafts. Boeing 720 has
the record flying from Karachi to London within seven hours. Government of
Pakistan several times announced to privatized the PIA but could not take
any proper action on that. Sub bases of PIA are located in Peshawar, Quetta,
Multan. Pakistan international airlines have many educational
institutes in Pakistan that are providing education related to aircrafts and
avionics. A training institute of PIA is working in Islamabad.
