Punjab University
Pakistan was established in 1857, it is the oldest university of Pakistan.
There are 4000 students studying at Punjab University. Its
campuses are:
Allama Iqbal
Campus: It is the old campus of Punjab University.
It is named on the name of Shair-e-mashriq (POET OF EAST) Allama Iqbal.
Quaid-e-Azam
Campus: It is the new campus of Punjab University. It is located
outside the Lahore and a canal separates its two academic blocks. This campus is
the center of administrative and academic activities.
Khanaspur Campus:
This campus is located in the Himalayan range near Ayubia. This campus provides
research facilities.
Gujranwala Campus:
This campus is located in Gujranwala it is providing services in four
disciplines that are business, information technology, commerce and law.
Punjab University is one
of the renowned university of Pakistan. It offers graduate, postgraduate, M.Phil
and PhD level studies.

In 1968, Dr Har Gobind
Khorana, won the Nobel Prize on his interpretation of the genetic code and the
functions of genetic code in protein synthesis. He completed his Bachelors in
Scince in 1943 and Master in Science in 1945 from the University of Punjab.
In 1979, Dr. Abdul Salam,
who is a theoretical physicist, received a Nobel Prize on Electro weak theory.
He completed MA in mathematics from Punjab University in
1946.
