Radio Pakistan is the official broadcasting service of Pakistan. It was established in 1947. It started its international broadcasting services in 1949. The purpose to establish internationally was to convey Pakistan’s peaceful and friendly messages to rest of the world. It has played important part in the promotion of Pakistani culture and art among other countries. Radio Pakistan broadcasts in approximately 16 languages that are Urdu, English, Chinese, Dari, Pushto, Hazaragi, Persian, Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Sinhala, Nepali, Turki, Russian, Turkish, Arabic, and Bangla.Popular newsreaders of Radio Pakistan are: Jehan Ara Saeed, Eric Warner, Rizwan Wasti, Aslam Azhar, Edward Carrapiett, Anis Mirza, Anita Ghulamali.
In 1999: Radio Pakistan started its FM radio services, which is full of entertainment and infotainment.
