| Peshawar University
was inaugurated in 1950 in Peshawar. It was established by the first
prime minister of Pakistan. Initially Peshawar University was
established in Islamia College right after partition of India and Pakistan it
was established independently. Approximately more than twenty thousand students
are getting education at Peshawar University. Approximately four colleges, three
high schools, forty postgraduate departments, center of excellence and some
other departments are the part of Peshawar University.
University has two campuses one is situated near the Torkham border; the second
one is situated at Abbotabad bara galli. Peshawar University has its own bank
and transport system to facilitate students of Peshawar University.
