Pakistan Education
Education in
Pakistan is not satisfactory. Literacy rate is very low in Pakistan as
Pakistan is a developing country there are lots of problems in Pakistan. Poverty
rate is very high and above 40% people are spending their lives below poverty
line in Pakistan. So it is difficult for these people to get education. The
literacy rate in Pakistan is about 50% that is not satisfactory. Pakistan is a
third world country and it is rapidly growing economic country without education
it is impossible to get the powerful position in the list of developed
countries. There are some dividing lines in the education of Pakistan in which
one and big is the hindrance in women education although women literacy is
increasing gradually but still women are very far from the men literacy rate.
Usually women are considered to take care of family by staying at home and
because of this they are unaware of their rights but since 1990’s some important
steps had been taken by the government of Pakistan to increase the literacy rate
of women. Another dividing line in the
education of Pakistan is the difference between rural areas and city
areas. City areas are more developed while rural areas are deprived of even
basic needs, and Pakistan is an agricultural country about 60% people dwell in
villages so they do farming on fields and are ill literate. But this condition
is not same in all rural areas some rural areas are becoming modern and well
aware of their rights young girls and boys are getting education. Another
important dividing line is the provincial dividing line, among the four
provinces of Pakistan in Punjab literacy rate is higher it is 47%. After Punjab
province Sindh stands where literacy rate is only 1% lower than Punjab and it is
46% but Sindh is better than Punjab in several educational facilities. Literacy
rate in Balouchistan is very low it is only 27% while in NW&FP it is 37%.
Government of Pakistan should take some important measure to increase the
literacy rate of Pakistan and to bring the Pakistan side by side with India and
China in Asia.
